As we are missing my husband, Gilbert Ives, your Dad Ives and your Grandpa Ives, I have some thoughts to share with you.
When we were married, you accepted him in as part of our family. He had expressed to me with tears in his eyes, how well you treated him and how much it meant to him.
Throughout the years he felt apart of and enjoyed:
The new babies as they were born into our family.
All the birthdays parties.
Grandparents Day at school.
Band concerts.
All the ball games: T-Ball, Softball, Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Volleyball.
Church plays.
Graduations both high school and college and graduation parties.
Weddings.
All of the family gatherings for picnics and dinners on holidays.
The many dinner invitations.
The trips we shared with various family members, such as:
Houseboating
Western trip
Ohio
Texas
Tennessee
Kentucky
North Carolina
New Hampshire
Northern Michigan
Amish area in Ohio
Shipshiwana, Indiana
Cincinnati, Ohio
Many thanks for the help so many willingly have given over the years:
For our yard For our garden For our house For repairs For being chauffeurs For help in several emergency situations and you so willing came to help. For being listening ears, when that was needed. For caring for cats and getting the mail and paper, when we were away. For the prayers, help, loving support through his surgeries, illnesses and his last months of life. For the grandsons serving as pallbearers.
He loved each and every one of you.
Lots of love to each of you. Mom/Grandma Ives
