AARON MICHAEL BUSH

Original:

Last Edited March 18, 2013

Born July 19, 1987 at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh, Michigan to Mark Edward and Nancy Lynne Bush.

Aaron joined the family with his brother, Nathan, who was 3 years old.

Aaron developed asthma at a young age. Part of that was his allergy to cats. He would need his inhaler when he came to our house. He so far hasn't outgrown being bothered from the cat.

The other day a young person asked me how I felt about being old. I was taken aback for I do no think of myself as old. Upon seeing my reaction, she was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question, and I would ponder it, and let her know.

Born July 5, 1985. Her parents are Daniel Ray and Jamie Marie Poling.

One thing that I always remembered about Brandie when she was little was when she would be playing outside or around the house she would sing. Not only did she sound happy, it let you know where she was.

We decided not to take the tour through the caverns due to the time concerns with the wait for the next tour involved. We headed towards Columbus, where we took Riverside Road along The Scioto River.. It was a beautiful drive with the river, big houses, big condos. We went south to Cillicothe. January 31, 2015

My first and only experience of going to youth camp was when I was 13. Our church youth went to Beulah Beach, along Lake Erie at that time. It made a big impression on me, since I had not gone away from home much. I remember singing in the tabernacle at the evening services and going on a boat ride on Lake Erie. One of my Comfort cousins, Carol was the camp nurse. Also remember that I bought some song books in the book store.

My Grandmother Crawford wasn't very tall and she had a large mole beside her neck on the side of the front. I remember standing up next to her and measuring to see if I came up to that mole yet. After I got that tall, then I would measure up to her chin. I eventually grew taller than my grandmother and my mother.

They moved in November of 2013 from their apartment in Tecumseh to just off Occidental Road into their first home, which is close by. So as a result I get to see him often, which I'm enjoying. He likes to laugh and likes to make others laugh. He has been such a joy to me. Thanks for sharing him.

We had a pasture field on the east side of the lane that we named “the pear tree field” , since there was a line of pears trees down the middle of the field. Years later imagine my surprise in walking back down the lane at my old home place and looking over and seeing no pear trees in our pear tree field.

December 30, 2014

It was so handy to finally have cold water piped into the house at the kitchen sink. All hot water had to be heated on the stove.

We had a large wooden icebox on the back porch to use when it got warm out. It took a large block of ice in one compartment to keep our foods cold. My mother would go to Adrian to the ice house to buy the ice. They would cut it out of the lakes in the winter time and store it for use in the summer.…

My life started on the Comfortdale Farm at 1523 E. Valley Rd. Adrian, MI, when I was born January 28, 1936 at 9:00 in the morning in the dining room of the family farmhouse to Leroy Hall and Winifred Crawford Comfort. They named me Lucy May after my Aunt Lucy Downs, my dad's sister and the May after my grandmother Lila May Crawford. I babysat for some neighbors a couple of times.

Babysitting - The summer of 1952 between my junior and senior years of high school I babysat Larry (5) and Leah Gibson (4) who lived a few houses west of us on our road. I was there during the day while their parents worked. One thing I remember from that was their mother cooked some spinach and thought that I should try it. What a shock to learn early in 1963 that I was pregnant once again. It took about 7 months to really accept that fact. Mr. Fruth used to go to Roff's farm on Occidental Highway in the summer and buy a bushel of muskmelons. Those melons tasted so good.

I took Hawaiian guitar lessons from Mrs. Overmeyer for a year in 1946-1947. The studio was upstairs over Woolworths Store on Maumee Street just west of the four corners in Adrian, Michigan. I liked Hawaiian music and also the Hawaiian guitar. I did learn to play some songs.

The latter part of 1974, I believed that the Lord was leading me to find a different church. I talked it over with my kids, since they were currently going to church with kids that they had gone all through school with. We said that we would visit other churches until we found where God directed us. We visited first the Tecumseh Assembly of God on Bidwell Street, since our neighbors, Noble and Myrtle Poe went there. W…

One day Charles came in the house and asked mama if he could start a fire. I don't recall what he was wanting to burn. She said no, since there was some wind blowing. After a bit, we noticed smoke and he had started a fire. It was in the back yard over by the side pasture and moving towards the corner of our big old barn. It was almost to the barn and the wind changed directions and the fire went away from the barn. We were…

Riding home from the cemetery after Gilbert's burial service with Mark and Nancy, Nancy said that they wanted to go to New England in the fall and asked if I wanted to go with them. What a nice gesture on their part to give me something to look forward to after such a great loss in my life.

If you should ask of me “what is your heart's desire?
Is it money, fame or fortune, fine goods or fine attire?”

My heart's desire is simple
Though it's importance is not so
But I can tell you simply, for I'd like you to know.

June 17, 2013

Born February 12, 1984 at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh, Michigan to Mark Edward and Nancy Lynne Bush.

What a privilege to go to the hospital to see this new little baby grandson.

I was babysitting Nathan at my house when he was about 2 years old. He went over and stood by the front door and cried and cried. He was waiting for his mom and dad to come back after him. Nothing seemed to divert his attention from crying until his parents came.

When going through a difficult tiime, it is so easy to focus on the situation and the problem.
Is. 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. Doesn't just happen, you have to work at it. I couldn't understand how you could do this when you had such a heavy heart, but when you start thinking about God, He gives peace and eases the hurt.

I started school when I was five in September 1941. It was Birdsall School, a one room school where my dad also went to school. My teacher for grades kindergarten thru fourth grade was Mrs. Helen White. She was a cousin on my Grandmother Comfort's side of the family. My first year of school covered both kindergarten and first grades. We had grades thru the eighth grade in one room with one teacher. As we are missing my husband, Gilbert Ives, your Dad Ives and your Grandpa Ives, I have some thoughts to share with you.

When we were married, you accepted him in as part of our family. He had expressed to me with tears in his eyes, how well you treated him and how much it meant to him.

Born June 9, 1983 at Bixby Hospital, Adrian, Michigan to Timothy Lee and Karen Marie Hess.

What a joy to hold my first grandchild in my arms.

I remember keeping him overnight when he was still a baby and taking him to church. Owen Smith greeted us at the door. I told him now I know why we have kids when we are young. I was out of practice getting babies ready to go away. I didn't know whether to get dressed first or get him dressed first.

Another horse riding experience was the time when she was about 10th grade. She and Dede, our next door neighbor was riding back in the fields behind us, the horse shied, Susie fell off and hit her head on a log. Dede rode up for help. Her dad came home from work and we took her to the Bixby Emergency Room. She was semi- conscious. They took her to Mott's Children Hospital in Ann Arbor by ambulance. January 11, 2015

The old cook stove stood on the east wall of our big kitchen. It was the only heat we had in that room during the winter months. Wood was the main source of heat. The range had warming ovens above the cooktop, a big oven below and a reservoir for hot water at the end. My what delicious chicken, roasts, meatloaf, cakes, pies, and cookies came from that big oven.

We lived back from the road, but it seemed like the road was an attraction. I spent hours watching you when you were outside, but you very quickly got out of sight. It was a good thing that the traffic was not as heavy as it is now.
