- Gilbert Eugene Ives, age 84, of Adrianpassed awaySunday, June 1, 2014at Hospice of Lenawee, Hospice Home. He  was born August 21, 1929, in Raisin Twp., MI, the son of Charles H. & Ella (Craig) Ives. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1947. He retired in 1986 from Stubnitz Greene / Hoover / Johnson Controls after 37 years. He was a member of Tecumseh Assembly of God. -Gilbert served in the U.S. Army from 1951 -1953. He married Ruth Klink of Sand Creek on September 23, 1955. She preceded him in death on May 21, 1984. Surviving him are their two sonsJeffrey (Angela) Ives of Ft. Mill, South Carolina and Gregg Ives of Spring, Texas, two daughters; Brenda (Bill Pruitt) of Houston, Texas and Marilyn (Sean) Sullivan of Spring, Texasand two grandchildren, Bennett and Ashlyn Ives of Ft. Mill, South Carolina. He married Lucy (Comfort) Poling of Adrian on October 19, 1985. In addition to his wife Lucy, he is survived by his stepchildren; Susan Burch (Steven Fankhauser) of Clayton, Nancy (Mark) Bush of Tecumseh, Daniel (Jamie) Poling of Tecumseh, Karen (Timothy) Hess of Tipton15 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren and one brother, Charles Ives of Tecumseh. Adrian Hwy (M-52), Adrian, MI, with Pastor Tom March officiating. Burial will follow in Hunt Cemetery, Madison Twp., MI, with Military Honors performed by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J.
